Assignment Zero

My name is Lisa Hostetler.  I both work at the University and attend the University as a student.  In my spare time, I like to play with my dog, Flynn.  I also like to bake.

My job at the University is within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute.  I work as a project manager for research studies using experimental drugs and medical devices.  The things that I like most about my job are: learning about new diseases, gaining a better understanding of how drugs work, and the challenge of taking something scientific and turning into an understandable entity for the lay public.  Oh, I also enjoy arguing with pharmaceutical companies over money.  That's my favorite part of the job.  I do not have a specific disease that I work within, but I tend to like to work in ultra rare diseases; those maladies which often do not have any sort of drug available to help ameliorate or cure symptoms.

I am looking forward to this class.  I am not a film major, but I do like to watch films.  I am not certain that I have a favorite film, or at least one doesn't spring to mind easily, but I do like the films of Alfred Hitchcock.
