Zero

Hello! My name is Mackenzie and I am a senior English major here at the U. I'm taking summer classes so I can graduate on time and ensure my terrifying transition into the "real world". I grew up in Minnesota and have a weird love for the aesthetic of cornfields. But that could be a direct result of the fact that I was born in Iowa.

But anywho, choosing a favorite movie, I have to admit, will not be as difficult as if you told me to choose a favorite book, but nonetheless, still difficult for all the factors that could go into choosing. I would probably have to go with... The Lord of the Rings. There is just something about grand adventures that get me. I also just love, cinematically, sweeping landscape views and those movies are chalk full of them. But, if I were to stick with the general idea of this class of horror, not so much ideology, I would choose the recent movie The Babadook. Now, that is a scary movie that is a piece of work. And I mean that in the real sense of the term, it's amazing. I recommend it to everyone.

I'm taking this class because it seemed really interesting. I haven't taken anything in film studies before, but I love film and more importantly I love horror films. This just seemed like the perfect class to give me my credits and enjoy, even though it's the summer. I look forward to meeting everyone!
