Hey, I'm Rebecca and I'm a Scottish student studying in Minnesota for the summer. I am currently halfway through my MA in English Literature at the University of Glasgow and am thoroughly enjoying it. I have chosen this class because I'm really interested in the way media, television and cinema can carry ideologies and influence human life, and also who doesn't love movies?
I don't think I could pick a favourite or least favourite film because I'm the type of person who will watch one great film and herald it as the best...until I watch the next one and be stumped for choice. I really like exploring different genres and am frequently surprised by what I think I will enjoy and what I actually enjoy. I'm hoping to gain a broader insight into the world of cinema through this course as it is a form I haven't looked at academically before.
